How to play Number Target

You get five numbers and a target. Pick two numbers and an operation (add, subtract, multiply or divide). They merge into one new number, which you can keep using. Keep going until one of your numbers equals the target.

Tips for solving

Look at the target first. Ask which large numbers or products are close to it, then use the smaller numbers to adjust the difference. Multiplying two mid-size numbers often gets you near the target quickly.

Common questions

Do I have to use every number? No. Use as many as you need.

Are fractions or negatives allowed? No. Every result stays a whole, positive number, so division only works when it divides evenly.
